About Cadmizorb-Plus Capsule

CADMIZORB-PLUS soft-gel capsules combine calcium carbonate 200 mg with calcitriol 0.25 mcg, the active form of vitamin D, plus vitamin K2-7, methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), magnesium, boron and zinc. It is used to treat calcium deficiency and to support bone health, including in people with osteoporosis.

Take it at the same time each day, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and do not take more than advised. Because calcitriol is a strong form of vitamin D, your doctor may check your blood calcium during treatment. Tell your doctor about any other medicines and supplements you take, especially other vitamin D or calcium products.

Therapy category: Bone health and nutrition.

Uses of Cadmizorb-Plus Capsule

  • Calcium deficiency
  • Supporting bone health in osteoporosis and low bone density

Benefits of Cadmizorb-Plus Capsule

Calcium deficiency

Calcium is needed for strong bones and teeth, and for normal nerve, muscle and heart function. Calcium carbonate tops up the calcium in your diet, and calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D, helps your gut absorb it. Magnesium and zinc also support normal bone metabolism.

Bone health in osteoporosis

In osteoporosis, bones become thinner and more likely to break. Calcium with active vitamin D helps maintain bone mineral density, while vitamin K2-7 activates proteins that help bind calcium into bone. Your doctor may prescribe it alongside other osteoporosis treatment.

Side effects of Cadmizorb-Plus Capsule

Most side effects are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Tell your doctor if they continue or worry you.

  • Constipation, wind or bloating
  • Nausea or stomach upset
  • Headache
  • Loss of appetite
  • Rash or itching
  • High blood calcium with long-term or excessive use (see warnings)

How to take Cadmizorb-Plus Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and for the length of time your doctor advises. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not chew or break it. Taking it with or after a meal can help calcium absorption and reduce stomach upset.

How Cadmizorb-Plus Capsule works

Calcium carbonate supplies calcium, the main mineral in bones and teeth. Calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D, increases the amount of calcium the gut absorbs. Vitamin K2-7 activates proteins that help bind calcium into bone, while magnesium, zinc and boron support normal bone metabolism. Methylcobalamin is an active form of vitamin B12, needed for healthy nerves and red blood cells.

  • The risk of high calcium is greater if you are immobile for long periods, for example after surgery.
