About Gabasram NT 100 Tablet
GABASRAM NT 100 tablets combine gabapentin 100 mg with nortriptyline 10 mg. Both medicines calm overactive nerve signals, and together they are used to treat long-term nerve pain (neuropathic pain), such as pain from diabetic nerve damage, shingles or spinal problems, which often causes burning, tingling, shooting pain or numbness.
Take it as your doctor prescribes, usually once a day at bedtime, because it can make you drowsy. It may take a few weeks to work fully. Do not stop it suddenly, avoid alcohol, and tell your doctor straight away about any low mood or thoughts of self-harm.
Therapy category: Neuropathic pain.
Uses of Gabasram NT 100 Tablet
- Neuropathic (nerve) pain
- Painful diabetic neuropathy
- Nerve pain after shingles (post-herpetic neuralgia)
Benefits of Gabasram NT 100 Tablet
Neuropathic (nerve) pain
Damaged nerves can send pain signals even without injury, causing burning, shooting or stabbing pain, tingling and numbness. Gabapentin, which is licensed for nerve pain, reduces these overactive signals. Low-dose nortriptyline is widely used by doctors for nerve pain because it strengthens the body's own pain-blocking pathways. Together they can relieve pain and improve sleep.
Painful diabetic neuropathy
Long-term high blood sugar can damage the nerves in the feet and legs. This combination eases the burning and tingling, alongside good blood sugar control and foot care.
Nerve pain after shingles
Pain can continue for months after a shingles rash has healed. Gabapentin is used to reduce this lingering nerve pain, and low-dose nortriptyline is often added by doctors.

How to take Gabasram NT 100 Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and for the length of time your doctor advises, usually once a day at bedtime. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. Do not stop taking it suddenly; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually when it is time to stop.
How Gabasram NT 100 Tablet works
Gabapentin attaches to calcium channels on nerve cells and reduces the release of chemicals that carry pain signals, calming overactive nerves. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic medicine that increases noradrenaline and serotonin levels in the spinal cord, strengthening the nervous system's natural pain-blocking pathways. At this low dose it is used for pain rather than depression, although in the UK it is licensed only for depression.
