About Ruskitop-DSR Capsule
RUSKITOP-DSR capsules combine enteric-coated pantoprazole 40 mg, which reduces stomach acid, with domperidone 30 mg in sustained-release form, which helps the stomach empty faster. It is used to treat acid reflux (GERD), inflammation of the food pipe caused by acid, and indigestion with bloating and nausea.
Take one capsule on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before breakfast, exactly as your doctor prescribes. Common side effects include headache, diarrhoea and dry mouth. Domperidone can affect heart rhythm, so tell your doctor about any heart problems and every other medicine you take.
Therapy category: Gastrointestinal care.
Uses of Ruskitop-DSR Capsule
- Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including heartburn and acid regurgitation
- Reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the food pipe caused by acid)
- Indigestion with bloating, fullness and nausea
Benefits of Ruskitop-DSR Capsule
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
In GERD, stomach acid flows back into the food pipe, causing heartburn and irritation. Pantoprazole lowers acid production, relieving symptoms, while domperidone helps food move through the stomach faster, reducing fullness and the backflow of acid. Your doctor will decide how long you need to take it; do not stop or continue it without their advice.
Reflux oesophagitis
Repeated acid reflux can inflame and damage the lining of the food pipe. Lowering stomach acid with pantoprazole allows the lining to heal and eases pain and burning.
Indigestion with bloating and nausea
Domperidone helps the stomach empty more quickly, easing bloating, early fullness, nausea and upper abdominal discomfort, while pantoprazole reduces acid-related pain.
Side effects of Ruskitop-DSR Capsule
Most side effects are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Tell your doctor if they continue or worry you.

- Abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation or bloating

How to take Ruskitop-DSR Capsule
Take this medicine in the dose and for the length of time your doctor advises. Swallow the capsule whole on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before breakfast. Do not chew, crush or open it.
How Ruskitop-DSR Capsule works
RUSKITOP-DSR combines two medicines. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks the pumps in the stomach lining that produce acid; its enteric coating protects it from stomach acid so it is absorbed further along the gut. Domperidone is a prokinetic that increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, helping food pass through faster and reducing reflux, bloating and nausea. The sustained-release form releases domperidone gradually through the day.

Warnings
- Domperidone can affect heart rhythm (QT prolongation). The risk is higher in people over 60, at higher doses and with other medicines that affect heart rhythm. It should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time, as decided by your doctor.
- Long-term use of pantoprazole, especially beyond 3 months, may lower magnesium and vitamin B12 levels and increase the risk of bone fractures.
- It may slightly increase the risk of certain gut infections.
- Tell your doctor before starting if you have unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, vomiting of blood or black stools.
Contraindications
- Heart conditions such as heart failure, or a known abnormal heart rhythm (QT prolongation)
- Moderate or severe liver disease
- Bleeding, blockage or perforation of the stomach or intestines
- A prolactin-secreting pituitary tumour (prolactinoma)
- Use with strong CYP3A4-blocking medicines such as ketoconazole, itraconazole or clarithromycin
- Allergy to pantoprazole, similar acid-reducing medicines, domperidone or any other ingredient
Important interactions
- Medicines that affect heart rhythm, such as some antiarrhythmics, antipsychotics like haloperidol, and antidepressants like citalopram or escitalopram, should not be combined with domperidone.
- The HIV medicines atazanavir and nelfinavir should not be used with pantoprazole, as it reduces their absorption.
- Pantoprazole can affect warfarin, so your INR may need checking, and can raise high-dose methotrexate levels.
- Pantoprazole reduces the absorption of ketoconazole and itraconazole, which also must not be combined with domperidone.
